May 14, 2014 Press Release

Spierings Cancer Foundation, COTS, Inc. and Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade
to Receive Assistance During 24-Hour Marketing Marathon

Coalesce Marketing and Design is expanding the impact of its inaugural 24-hour marketing and design workathon, and will be providing marketing assistance to three Fox Valley non-profit organizations during 2GETHER•4GOOD on May 22-23, 2014.

“We were overwhelmed by the response from area non-profits and humbled by the outpouring of goodness happening in the Fox Cities, which made choosing just one 2GETHER•4GOOD recipient extremely difficult,” says Lisa Piikkila, owner and creative director of Appleton-based Coalesce Marketing. “Since each non-profit applicant sought a different level of marketing support, we decided we could help multiple organizations with their marketing efforts.”

In total, 24 local organizations applied for 2GETHER•4GOOD. This year’s recipients are:

  • Spierings Cancer Foundation – Provides financial assistance through grants to families in the Fox Cities who are struggling financially due to cancer, enhances cancer treatments in the Fox Cities, funds cancer research in the State of Wisconsin, and hosts an annual fundraising event called Rock Cancer.
  • COTS, Inc. – Provides temporary transitional shelter for men, women and young adults experiencing homelessness in Outagamie, Winnebago and Calumet counties, and offers supportive services, including in-house job training and financial education.
  • Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade of the Fox Valley – Provides Character Development and Leadership Training for area youth, hosts Camp Onaway during the summer, and facilitates an annual Christmas Giving program to help families in need.

From noon on Thursday, May 22, 2014 through noon on Friday, May 23, 2014, Coalesce Marketing’s eight employees will work non-stop to create marketing materials and creative deliverables for the three non-profit organizations.

Several area businesses have also volunteered their time and resources to 2GETHER•4GOOD, including Dave Jackson Photography, N.E.W. Printing, BConnected and Charitabli. The total value of the work and services provided is estimated to be more than $40,000.

To further extend the impact of 2GETHER•4GOOD, Charitabli is creating a 24-day online fundraising opportunity to benefit ALL 2GETHER•4GOOD 501(c)3 applicants. In order to create awareness for the fundraiser, BConnected will provide a social media plan to participants. Individuals can donate money to participating non-profits via starting at noon on Thursday, May 22, 2014 through noon on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

In addition, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, United Way Fox Cities and Schenck will be providing two free reservations to a full-day non-profit marketing workshop for all 2GETHER•4GOOD 501(c)3 applicants. The event is presented by Kivi Leroux Miller and will be held on September 16, 2014 at the Grand Meridian in Appleton.

Coalesce Marketing created 2GETHER•4GOOD in celebration of its 10-year anniversary and as a way to extend its mission of growing together with its clients, community and team. The agency hopes to make 2GETHER•4GOOD an annual event, and encourages all area non-profits to apply again next year.
